Thank you for this opportunity to welcome you personally to Confluence Studios. My name is Carrie L. Kellerby, and I have created this experimental and collaborative community-based art studio in the hopes of providing a home base for the already many thriving and emerging creative practices of the Grand Valley. For those who want to know a little more about me, please check out my bio on this website.
Confluence Studios seeks to engage with three foundational tributaries Education, Economy, and Ecology. These are the areas of community that we all share and shape. Our hope is that through artistic engagement, we may come together as agents to develop those tributaries in ways that nurture and sustain the Grand Valley for many years to come.
We are already underway with some classes in December, but the new year will bring many additional offerings. Please take a look at our calendar and feel free to contact us if you would like more information about any of our offerings.
Additionally, Confluence Studios is always looking to collaborate with artists, mentors, and community programs. Please reach out if you would like to work with us—or if you would like more information about teaching and mentoring opportunities.
You are invited to join us on December 20th for an open house from 7:30 pm until 9:00 pm. This is an opportunity to see the space and get to know us personally. We are currently working on a sun-salutation practice on Friday, December 20th, in honor of the winter solstice and to invite creative light into all our upcoming endeavors. Please stay tuned for more details.
Also, please note several fun events we have scheduled for December and January: December 23rd we will host a second fun and fab Arty Christmas tree lot. The whole family can chose and decorate trees from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Finally, the first Friday in January will be the official opening of Confluence Studios’ premier exhibition, Confluence Visions: The Intersection of Art and Community. Please join us from 5:00 to 8:00, meet the artists, and tour the studio space.
