Community Announcements:

2020 Tributaries Project:

Every year Confluence Studios intends to present a series of events that will focus on a particular theme or community concern. This may include lectures, panels, performances and artistic responses. Ideally, events will take place every month over the year. We have chosen Water as our theme for this year and will keep you posted as projects begin to unfold. Please let us know if you have an idea for this project or are willing to lend a hand (All media welcome).


Call for Artists (all media):

Fluid Nature will be the theme of our next exhibit, opening April 3rd 2020. Those interested in submitting work: Please forward 1. 4-6 images 2. List of art images including title, medium, and size 3.Artist’s statement 4. Short bio to imconfluencestudios@gmail.com.


Upcoming Events:

Write Together and Write On! Open Studio (come and go) weekly writing session. Prompts available. See the website for more info. Starting in February we will be joining forces with the Western Colorado Writers’ Forum to bring you Prompts and Circumstances: a two-hour guided writing session where participants react to prompts and share responses. Look forward to this starting February 27th at 6:30pm. Fun for both beginning and seasoned writers.


Teen Scene Writing Bootcamps

These will Commence in February! These are workshops focused on the moving parts of strong writing skills, like grammar basics, sentence composition, and paragraph organization.


Lesly Adams will be teaching a creative card making workshop (TBA) and is also organizing a beginning knitting class and Open Fiber Studio knit time. Both of these will probably take place on Friday mornings, but we will keep you posted.


Jo Watson will be offering several print and paint classes in March and April, including a white line woodcut printmaking class and an acrylic pour playtime. She has also proposed a beginning drawing class, oil painting, and monotype classes, so keep an eye on our calendar and contact us to register.


We are also working on adding a watercolor class or two in the near future as well as more fiber classes. Stay tuned!


Please feel free to let us know if you are interested in any of these classes and would like to reserve a space—or have suggestions for other programs you would like to see us offer. And please contact us if you have a class or workshop to offer. We have several options for leadership and teaching opportunities.


Need Affordable Space?

Confluence Studios has space to rent for classes, meetings, events, or focused working—There are many options. If you are in need—please ask us.


Final Note:

Confluence Studios is looking for a volunteer advisor for our upcoming teen and young adult online literary and arts magazine.
