For the first exhibition of Confluence Studios, I felt that it was important to capture the essence of Confluence Studio's missions: to open the gates between the flow of art and the dynamic energy of community and to make a home for the flourishing and co-mingling of these two kinds of imagination. I wanted to demonstrate the symbiosis of the world and imaginative possibility. To create a show that demonstrated this depended on the ability of the works chosen to articulate place as a visceral experience in which imagination unfurls and flutters joyfully. The works in this collection not only manage to conjure the concrete specificity of being in the world, they also illustrate the most delightful role of imagination in our shared field of visions.
