About the event
In this 2-day workshop, students will be introduced to printmaking and the wide range of prints possible using the collagraph printmaking technique. All materials supplied by instructor. On Day 1, April 12th 1-4pm, students will collage a variety of materials to create their collagraph plate at Confluence Studios. On Day 2, April 19th 1-5pm, students will meet at Jo Watson's home printmaking studio and use her etching press to print their plates. In this workshop, students will learn:
- Image Creation Considerations for Collagraph Prints
- How to make a Collagraph plate
- Sealing a Collagraph plate
- Inks and Safe Printmaking Practices
- Using an Etching Press
- Various methods of inking a collagraph plate
